what the heck do i do with the pre-order key? - Guild Wars Forums

just got factions and it says pre order key unlocks all that jazz that everyone knows it unlocks, but where do i enter it? do i enter it now, then once i get the real game enter that cd key on top of this? iono...

you can use the manage account part to add the preorder key to your existing account and the retail key over that or use the preorder key to open a separate account and then add your retail key to that separate account.

note they will not be able to merge these accounts if they are separate

After you sign into Guild Wars, at the character selection screen, there's a button at the lower-left corner called "Edit Account". Select that, then "Manage Access Keys". Click "Next" twice, then enter in the code.

Ingame, you can give any of your existing characters the preorder items by typing /preorder. PvP characters get them automatically when they are created. Note that you can't drop them or put them into a trade window, but you can throw away and create another preorder item as much as you like.

Login into your account. When you get the teh screen where your characters are standing, look at teh bottom and hit Manage Accounts. From there choose enter key, then enter the pre order key and thie enter. When you are in a town, type /preorder and it will give you the new items. They are customized for that character, so as of now they are pretty useless. The preorder will also give you a 24 hour head start to play the game before it hits the shelves.
